India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 (Schedule-II) – Golden Opportunity for 10th Pass Candidates

The Department of Posts, Government of India, has invited online applications for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). The recruitment includes the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak across various postal circles.

Posts and Salary (TRCA)

1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)

• Salary: ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 per month

2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)

• Salary: ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month

3. Dak Sevak

• Salary: ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month

In addition to the TRCA, selected candidates will be eligible for Dearness Allowance (DA) and other benefits as per Department rules.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th Standard) from a recognized Board.

• Passing marks in Mathematics and English are mandatory.

• Candidates must have studied the local language of the concerned postal circle at least up to the 10th standard.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years

• OBC: 3 years

• PwBD: 10 years

• PwBD + OBC: 13 years

• PwBD + SC/ST: 15 years

Other Essential Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of computers

• Knowledge of cycling

• Adequate means of livelihood

Selection Process

There will be no written examination for this recruitment.

Selection will be made through a system-generated merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the 10th Standard examination. The merit percentage will be calculated with accuracy up to four decimal places.
